The Memory of Light by Francisco X Stork

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was very meaningful to be part of a plot line focusing on mental illness.

Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston

I was not crazy about this book. I thought the topic was wonderful and topical and important but the cheerleading dialog was often times annoying. I gave this book 2 stars.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I am not usually a fan of fantasy but I loved this book. I enjoyed the narrative going back in forth between Elias and Laia. I was on the edge of my seat for many sections of this book. I highly recommend it and I hope to see it on the Abe List in the future.

The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer

I have been a fan of Amy Schumer's for a while and when I heard she wrote a book I had to read it. While there was humor, Schumer took a serious side throughout showing real depth of who she is as a person. I really enjoyed getting to know the person and not the comedian. Great read.

Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly

Wow, I loved this book. Can not recommend it enough. What a powerful story of three woman throughout Poland, Germany and America and how their stories intertwine as a result of WWII. One of the best books I've read in quite some time.

A Step Towards Falling by Cammie McGovern

I was a huge fan of Cammie McGoverns book Say What You Will and immediately ordered her other books to see if I liked them as much. I definitely enjoyed A Step Toward Falling. I really think Cammie McGovern is a great author and I especially like that she includes characters with disabilities. I don't often read books with characters with physical or mental disabilities and I think it helps me understand my students better. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I had heard about this book for a few months. It was getting a lot of buzz so I finally sat down to read it. I was slightly disappointed. I started off intrigued and by the end of the book I just didn't care how it was all going to end.
